![]() ![]() So going by information on this thread if i leave my Lan Port enabled and its drivers installed it should not consume more than one online activation, right ? My motherboard has a lan port and addition to it i plug in a USB wifi card when using internet via Wifi/Hotspot. Im gonna install NTlite NEXT on my home Desktop(s) where i use two different ISP for internet- one via USB tethering and one via wifi/hotspot. (no hardware changed, no network adapters were disabled, it is a laptop).so it seems all righty now. Ok i used the licence.dat file plus put in the code manually and it accepted my code without burning anymore online activation. Try it if your hardware has working drivers. Its as good as windows 7 and with the modern UI of windows 10 and it doesnt have all the telemetry issues of 10. I have 8.1 running on AMD FM2+ and on Intel Coffee Lake(i3 8300 and B360 chipset). Microsoft is supporting it till 2023, its features do not change with every update, i take it you know about the new features MS add with every new windows 10 major update. I recently switched from windows 7 to windows 8.1 and it is a great alternative to 7 and 10. I have presets availible for w7 8.1 and 10 to get you started. You can however create an ISO with drivers for a specific hardware combination, for instance, you have an old Dell(etc) laptop that you want to use for web browsing emails etc you can tailor your builds for that combination if you want to create a nice lightweight internet machine. When you create an ISO it can be used on any machine, it is not bound to specific hardware. You cannot fully service a Windows 10 image from Windows 7 Host, you can shrink and tweak it but you cannot update it. Unlike a software which I bought several years ago (for 51.38 USD) but after I activated it once and several weeks later re installed Windows and went to activate it again, it wouldn't activate and was showing that the license is already activated, I mailed the developer several times but never received a reply so the license is useless and the money is wasted and I would have to crack the software to be able to use it without restrictions even thought I paid for it.I will let nuhi answer your licensing questions. And I can activate unlimited times offline and don't have to worry about activation count. I believe this could also be used to share the license with other people but it wouldn't be a nice thing to do.įor me the licensing method is not a problem since I only have one PC. You don't need to have a working internet connection to be able to activate but a Ethernet or WiFi adapter must be present for the mac address. ![]() When you install it on a VM and then move the VM to another PC the license will continue to work because the hardware on the VM is the same and you can preserve the mac address. That's why there is a expensive business license which allows you to use it on any PC you want. If you could use it on any PC you want at any time then you could share it with other people and thus they wouldn't need to buy the software. The license is tied to hardware and mac address to prevent people from using it on more then one PC. The Licensing model is the only thing holding me back from purchasing.Ĭlick to expand. If you do change your hardware you can just contact the developer and he will make sure the license will continue to work on the new hardware. I am now learning a new cad software.Īt this time I don't need the premium option but would purchase anyway since it's obvious a lot of work has gone into the free version. I will never upgrade any of my licenses for Eagle cad because Now with the new licensing model YOU MUST activate online. So, I Try not to purchase any software that requires on-line activation ( OK ms OS's and anti-virus software has us by the We have no choice!!Ī good example would be Eagle Cad being bought out by Autodesk. I lose the ability to use the software I paid for. Or what happens when they disappear completely?. If I had to activate online every time I re-installed the software What do I do when the internet is down ( that never happens Right? ) but most important to me is the Dev machines NEVER see the internet. After many attempts I gave up and bought a competitors product. Only thing was my info wouldn't yield the automated discount in the cart. Wanting to upgrade to a more capable version I sent an e-mail regarding previous owner discounts as described on the web site. An emailed key unlocks the software and can be done offline where my development environment is. The license model is like Ultraiso, Winiso, BlueIris, Everest, Passware, DriveSnapshot, ect. I bought a license for TeleportPro many years ago. The issue I have is with the licensing method. ![]()
